GETTING STARTED IN YOUR JOB SEARCH FOR 18-24 YEAR OLDS
This orientation is designed to discuss the unique challenges faced by those aged 18 to 24. Develop a career plan and learn how to successfully navigate today's challenging job market.

GETTING STARTED SESSIONS
These sessions are geared specifically for prospective students and provide an overview of admissions, career resources, degree information, enrollment, financial aid and general student services available to WCTC students. It is designed for students who may know the program(s) they are interested in or students who are beginning to explore WCTC programs and would like to know where to start.

INTERVIEW SKILLS
One of the best ways to prepare for an interview is practice. In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to effectively answer interview questions and practice to perfect your answers. 

JOB FAIR READINESS
Job fairs provide a great opportunity for you to meet employers who represent a wide range of industries.  Find out how to make the best impression on recruiters and make the most out of attending a job fair.  Learn what can you say and do during the first 60 seconds to make the recruiter want to explore the possibility of hiring you.  (This workshop is offered twice a year prior to the Community Job Fairs on campus.)

LINKEDIN FOR JOB SEEKERS
This workshop is for individuals new to LinkedIn. Plan to attend this workshop to learn the benefits of LinkedIn and strategies to create your profile. Bring your current resume to assist in profile development. Basic computer skills required. 

ON-LINE & E-MAIL JOB APPLICATION TECHNIQUES
Learn proper cover letter format, on-line job application methods, and effective practices to email your resume and cover letter. Additional topics covered are Automatic Tracking Systems and plain text formatting. Individualized instruction on copy & paste and attaching & uploading resumes is available directly after class.

RESUME 101
Develop your resume step by step in this 2 hour workshop. Please bring a job posting of a job you would apply for. Computer skills not required.

STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESS
Readiness skills or soft skills can be more important to your future employer than technical skills. Through discussion and interaction, we will focus on employer expectations and learn strategies to understand workplace etiquette, how to maintain a positive outlook and build successful workplace relationships. 


WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE?
This is a hands-on approach to the career development process using Career Cruising software program assessments. This workshop assists job seekers in identifying personal interests, skills, values, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. After the assessments, the program matches your personal information with difference occupations that you could possibly pursue.
