TRAINING PROGRAMS AND INCENTIVES
- On-the-job Training (OJT): OJT dollars are used to provide training wage reimbursements to businesses who hire job seekers who have the aptitude and ability to do a specific job but who may not have previous on-the-job experience in that occupation or industry. Reimbursements are designed to help offset the extraordinary costs of training new hires. Businesses can be reimbursed for 50% or 75% of the wages paid during a contracted training period.
- Incumbent Worker Training: We recognize the need for continued training for individuals not only who are in the job seeking process but also for those who are currently employed. As a result of local business needs, we can assist with your workforce's training needs.
- Work-Based Learning: We encourage businesses of all industries to contribute to the future workforce by providing work experience, apprenticeships, and internship opportunities. WDC Case Managers and Employer Relations Specialists use youth preferences, assessment results, and employer needs to match participants to work-based learning opportunities that create a win-win for the business and youth.
